Project Benefits

Unlike many planning projects the Batavia Opportunity Area plan is strategic in nature. The plan will focus specifically on redevelopment of underutilized strategic sites that are hindering redevelopment within the area and, if redeveloped, will act as catalysts for area redevelopment. The most significant benefit of the project is that it will advance projects to the marketplace by providing the following:

• A revitalization strategy based on community and stakeholder involvement;

• Identification and alignment of grant and financing opportunities for strategic sites and projects;

• Assessments of environmental conditions, if any, at strategic sites;

• Development of partnerships with property owners, funding agencies and developers; and

• Marketing of strategic sites.
